Corporate Program Project Highlights:
- Enhanced Corporate Culture of Safety
- National Code Compliance
- Business Protection
A leading producer of steel in the United States, Canada and Europe had a furnace explode at their Northeastern U.S. facility. The explosion damaged process equipment and injured numerous people; drawing corporate leaders’ attention towards safety for their entire operations and the need to develop a corporate program focusing on employee training.
Honeywell Combustion Safety and the steel conglomerate’s corporate leaders worked together to develop two, 5-day custom training programs for plant management and personnel involved with IPR (introduction, purging and reintroduction) processes at their plants across the U.S. and Canada. On-site instruction was integrated with hands-on training in the steel maker’s training facilities, while working with CEC’s custom designed gas train simulators.
HCS trained over 100 personnel at 9 U.S. and Canadian facilities. HCS also helped to revise the organization’s corporate standard for purging procedures, which has been implemented company-wide. This program, in full, has been incorporated by the steel corporation as their company standard for IPR training procedures; keeping their entire organization safer for years to come and avoiding the misfortune of another combustion related event.
